  • Steve Wilson

    Steve Wilson

    Chief Executive Officer

    Steve is from the Haisla Village of Kitamaat. Steve’s Haisla name is Duxlaha, he hails of the Beaver Clan.

     By way of background Steve’s career spans over 25 years. His experience has been gained from a Job Creation Specialist with the federal government, stores worker with the Vancouver Police Department, a Meter Checker with the City of Vancouver, a Police Constable with CP Police, a criminal courtworker with the Native Courtworkers of BC, an environmental activist with the Na na kila Institute, elected chief councillor of Kitamaat Village Council, a band administrator with various bands, and a business owner.

     Additionally, Steve worked in the energy sector and utilities sector.

     Later in life, to support his business, Steve went back to school to obtain his Master’s Certificate in Project Management at UNBC, followed by his Master’s Degree in Business Administration at SFU.

     Currently, Steve is working towards his doctorate in Business Administration at Golden Gate University.

     As a fresh face at Gitlaxdax, Steve sees a lot of opportunities to grow the organization in new sectors and expresses how happy he is to be apart of the team!

     Steve wishes to convey his door is open to all who have questions or concerns, if the door is closed, knock, poke your head in and let him know you need to talk, and he can arrange how we you will meet.

    ACTING CEO

    Founding Member of GNTS

    Ant’aahl Wilaaýisgum Ganaaẃhl way, ksim Ganada niin wilp NiisJoohl. Laxgalts’ap wil witgwiy, Gitlaxdax wil jogay.

    Michelle has worked with the Terrace Urban Local since 2013 in several capacities, bringing over 20 years’ experience in Administration in the non-profit sector and knowledge of the community services available in the Terrace area. As the Cultural Coordinator a few programs she runs are: monthly elders socials, Nisga’a language classes, regalia making, traditional food distributions, Hoobiyee Celebrations and much more.

    As a founding member of the Gitlaxdax Sayt Kiĺim Goothl Nisga’a Dancers Michelle has taken on several terms on the Executive committee since 1997. She enjoys growing, harvesting and preparing local resources from medicinal plants to traditional foods.

    Michelles cultural upbringing has groomed her well to be an active member of our Nation and community making stepping into her role here at GNTS seamless.

  • Kiley Leeuw

    Office/HR Manager

    Kiley has been with GNTS since 2023.

    In her spare time Kiley enjoys being a hermit with her husband Bobert and their black cat named Jiji

    Kiley started her career life at 16 as a kitchen grunt, eventually working her way up to Owner and Executive Chef by the age of 26.

    Tired of late nights and Friday rushes, Kiley moved into Business Management and other Management Positions.

    Kiley now has the great fortune of being in the most rewarding position of her life. She is thankful to be able to give back to her community and to work with the most amazing team on this side of the Skeena.
